Education and Experience

Prior to starting my career as a therapist, I received a bachelor’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University and went on to receive a master’s degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University. Throughout my career I’ve gained experience working in intensive eating disorder treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, case management, and prevention work. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for several years, where I worked as a therapist in an eating disorder treatment center. That treatment center is where I got my start with working with eating disorders and realized how much I love working with the eating disorder recovery community. I later started working in a group private practice in Atlanta, where I worked for 2.5 years prior to starting my own practice in my home town of Cleveland, Ohio.

My Approach

I base my work on two core beliefs: 1) Your past may impact you but it doesn't have to define you, and 2) You have the ability to make positive changes for yourself. I wholeheartedly believe that every individual has power within themselves to change their reality into something positive. My role is to be a gentle guide on your journey of finding and using that power to the fullest extent. I find that therapy works best if we have a collaborative relationship, and I’m committed to creating an approachable, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment to help you show up as your most authentic self. You’re the expert on your own life, and together we can combine our expertise to help you get you closer to where you want to be. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and realistic, with dedication to providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and body positive therapy to people of all backgrounds. All sexual orientations, gender expressions, and racial/cultural identities are welcome in my practice. My approach to therapy is influenced by a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and psychodynamic/relational frameworks. Having a wide variety of therapeutic modalities to pull from allows me to tailor this experience to your unique needs. We may spend our time challenging unhelpful thoughts, seeing new perspectives, finding ways to break out of disruptive habits, or exploring early life experiences to understand how they impact you today. Whatever challenges you’re going through, I’m here to listen and support.
